Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Consultant – Power BI with 4 to 6 years of experience in business intelligence and data visualization. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, transform data into meaningful insights, and ensure data accuracy, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.

  • Engage with senior stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions.

  • Perform advanced data modeling, DAX calculations, and Power Query (M) transformations.

  • Integrate and manage data from multiple sources (SQL Server, Excel, Cloud platforms, APIs, etc.).

  • Ensure data accuracy, governance, security, and compliance across Power BI environments.

  • Optimize dashboard performance, data refresh strategies, and overall report usability.

  • Establish and enforce Power BI development standards, best practices, and visualization guidelines.

  • Provide production support, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead root cause analysis.

  • Mentor and guide junior Power BI developers and analysts.

  • Stay updated with new Power BI features and Microsoft data & analytics technologies and recommend improvements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • 4–6 years of professional experience working with Power BI.

  • Strong expertise in DAX, Power Query (M), advanced data modeling, and performance tuning.

  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.) and complex SQL queries.

  • Solid understanding of ETL concepts and data integration frameworks.

  • Strong knowledge of data visualization best practices and data storytelling.

  • Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, SQL DB, etc.) is a strong plus.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and lead BI initiatives end to end.
